How to Get the Most for Your Recycled Metals
Want to get the most for your recycled metals? Here’s how:
1) Clean your scrap metal
Your scrap metal can have all kinds of contaminants on it like dirt, plastic or rubber. However, scrap metals that include waste oils and fluids should always be left to be cleaned by us – they are an environmental threat and our cleaning process ensures that they do not end up in the environment.
2) Separate materials by type
Not only should you separate your scrap metals into ferrous and non-ferrous piles, but sorting them by type will also make it easier for us to identify your scrap metal and tell you how much it’s worth. Separate your scrap metals into piles for aluminum, steel, copper, etc.
3) Deliver your materials
If you can safely and conveniently transport your own scrap metals to our yard, why not do it yourself! Moffatt Scrap Iron & Metal Inc. is open Monday to Friday from 7am to 5pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 7am to 12pm.
We also have a 24 hour drop-off bin located in front of our facility. Avoid dumping fees at other disposal sites!
It seems so easy to do! If I have any scrap metal I’m definitely taking it to a recycling plant instead of the landfill! It’s easier to do and costs way less!
