Whether you have a large pile of metal that you’ve been meaning to get rid of, or just a few pieces here and there, there are a couple of things you’ll need to recycle your metals safely and properly.

1) Magnet – You’ll need a magnet for identifying which metals are ferrous or non-ferrous. Keeping these items separate will make recycling them easier.

2) Screwdriver and/or hammer – Some items will require removing plastic or separating your ferrous and non-ferrous metals. You can make the recycling process easier by doing this yourself.

3) Gloves – If you’re separating metals – or even handling old scrap metal – it’s essential to wear proper safety gloves. Sharp corners or edges could cause damage to your hands.

4) Ropes – If you’re taking it upon yourself to bring your scrap metal to Moffatt Scrap Iron & Metal Inc., make sure everything is loaded onto your vehicle properly and secured safely.

Don’t forget, Moffatt Scrap Iron & Metal Inc. will come to you and pick up your unwanted scrap metals!
